A night after rewriting the history books at the Oakland Coliseum, we're back — this time against hosts San Francisco Unicorns, in a high-octane Challenger clash with the MLC 2026 Final on the line and the title we won in 2024 within reach.
We walk in carrying the same belief that got us through the last one: all the way to the end. MI New York threw the highest total in T20 history at us, but our commitment never wavered. Steve Smith and Andries Gous both brought up centuries to keep the chase alive — and Gous made history of his own, becoming the first American to score a century in MLC, the clearest sign yet of the power and calm he's batted with all season. In the first innings, Rachin Ravindra had stood firm against the MINY onslaught, and his spell of 4/29 proved decisive on a night that could have gone either way.
That same attitude and commitment travels with us tonight against a Unicorns side that topped the league stage this season.
A place in the Final is now within touching distance, and a stern test awaits. Tonight, back at the Oakland Coliseum, the #FreedomExpress has a new opportunity to show the world exactly how we play the game.
