Five of our international squad members have been in action for their country over the last week.

Freedom players Adam Milne, Glenn Phillips, Tanveer Sangha, Matt Short and Marco Jansen all been represented their countries in the last week, with Phillips and Milne playing against England for New Zealand, whilst Short and Sangha went up against Jansen, as Australia took on South Africa.

All players impressed, but in particular it was a thrilling week for Short and Sangha who made their respective international debuts.

Short played in all three of Australia’s T20Is against South Africa, as the Aussies, under new captain Mitchell Marsh, completed a three-nil clean sweep. Short’s finest performance came in the second T20, where he made 66 off 30 balls.

But it was Sangha who stole the show, as on debut he produced a remarkable spell of bowling, claiming 4-31 from his allotted overs. Sangha’s maiden international wicket was South Africa captain Aiden Markram, before he later took the wicket of Freedom teammate Marco Jansen.

Over in England, Phillips finished the four-match T20 series that was drawn two-all, as New Zealand’s leading run scorer, making 174 runs in four innings including a top score of 69, whilst Milne played in the opening two fixtures of the series, impressing in particular at Old Trafford as he conceded just 23 runs off his four overs.
