Washington Freedom produced another composed team performance to defeat Texas Super Kings by five wickets in Dallas, moving into the top four and taking a significant step towards securing a place in the playoffs.

After opting to bowl first, Freedom weathered a brisk start from the TSK openers, who added 66 without loss in the Powerplay. Once the breakthrough arrived, the momentum shifted decisively. Rachin Ravindra sparked the turnaround with two wickets, while Mitch Owen and Nikhil Chaudhary matched him with two apiece as Freedom's varied attack dismantled the middle and lower order.

Texas Super Kings never managed to regain control after crossing the 100-run mark. Regular wickets and disciplined bowling through the death overs ensured they were bowled out for 165, with Freedom producing another clinical display in the field.

The chase began positively, with Steven Smith and Rachin Ravindra adding a fluent half-century partnership after the early loss of Mitch Owen. Smith's attacking knock laid the foundation before Texas fought back, picking up wickets at regular intervals to leave the contest delicately poised heading into the closing overs.

With the pressure mounting and the required runs still to be found, Ben Dwarshuis produced the decisive innings of the night. The Australian all-rounder counterattacked brilliantly, smashing an unbeaten 38 from just 16 deliveries to wrestle the momentum back in our favor and steer us home with five wickets in hand. His match-winning contribution, coupled with an earlier wicket, earned him the Player of the Match award.
