Washington Freedom were given the opportunity to train at the prestigious Duke University, before receiving a tour of the historic campus.

The University, which is known for its incredibly successful men’s basketball team, provided Freedom with the opportunity to train at their state-of-the-art facilities, before the backroom staff were given a tour of the facilities and traded notes with one another on elite athlete development.

Players had access to the gym, before being able to use the world-class aquatic recovery stations afterwards.

Known for its basketball team, with two of the NBA’s past five No.1 draft picks coming from Duke, the campus is also home to the equally impressive Wallace Wade Stadium, which has an official capacity of 40,004. A number of players, such as Adam Milne, Dane Piedt, Matt Short and Justin Dill took in the sights with the players full tour of the facilities planned for later in the week.

Washington Freedom will have access to Duke University’s facilities throughout the week the side plays in North Carolina. The team has three fixtures that will be played at Church Street Park, Morrisville, starting with LA Knight Riders on Thursday.
