The Washington Freedom had three youth players named to their respective Super Y All-League Teams. Selections were based off the nominations of opposing coaches throughout the Super Y Finals.
Super Y-League U14 Finals Preview
The 10th Annual North American Super Y-League Finals, the ultimate event behind a decade of youth soccer development in the U.S. and Canada, is less than 24 hours away. The U14 Washington Freedom go into the Finals with a 13-1-0 record, and lead the league with 59 goals scored.

United Soccer Leagues announced today the final player selections for the Super Y-League’s ODP National Camps to be held at Ed Radice Sports Complex in Tampa, Florida. The Washington Freedom had nine girls selected from their Super-Y teams.

With the 2008 Super Y-League regular season coming quickly to an end, the Washington Freedom is wrapping up its second successful season in the league. The Freedom added two age groups to its all female youth set up for the 2008 season in the U-13 and U-15 divisions. With a successful past, the Freedom has used its senior team, the 2007 W-League champions, as its model for success. This season the U-20’s have already played in their third consecutive North American Finals and the U-16, U-14 and U-13 teams have already qualified for the North American Finals in November.
Super-Y North American Finals Format
10th Anniversary North American Finals to feature top 140 youth teams in North America
United Soccer Leagues announced today the format for the Super Y-League’s 10th Anniversary North American Finals. As has been the case in each of the past four seasons, the North American Finals will be held as one half of USL’s SoccerFest from Friday, November 21 to Tuesday, November 25. The second half of SoccerFest, USL’s Annual General Meeting, will be held in downtown Tampa, Florida, and will represent one of the largest annual gatherings of North American soccer officials, executives and administrators.
