The Washington Freedom will be holding open tryouts for its U13-U16 Center of Excellence teams on February 14 and February 21 at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Maryland.  The Freedom’s Center of Excellence Teams play in the USL Super-Y League from June through August and has featured teams each November in the North American Finals in Tampa, Florida.  The Freedom have been ranked the #1 Girls Club in North America by the United Soccer Leagues for the last two years running, having amassed an incredible 91-14-11 record club-wide. 

Tryouts are open to members of any club, the Freedom Center of Excellence is proud to work with the best players in the mid-Atlantic region.  The Washington Freedom Center of Excellence teams will be trained and play in a similar style to the professional WPS team.  The Freedom strongly encourages all players to attend the professional WPS and amateur Freedom Futures (W-League) matches to watch the best players in the world and reinforce the information that they are learning in their team’s training sessions.  As members in the Center of Excellence all players receive tickets to all WPS and Freedom Futures home matches.   

Tryout Details
Tryouts will be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex on the TURF fields.  Tryouts will be held rain or shine but will be rescheduled should there be lightening.  The Freedom’s website will be updated with any changes due to weather. 

• Tryouts are FREE and open to all players
• Although attendance at both sessions is not required it is strongly encouraged. 
• We ask that players tryout for the teams in their true age group.  The coaching staff will determine if players should and will be playing up during the season. 
• Participation in the Washington Freedom Center of Excellence does not affect your ability to continue playing with your current club teams.
