The Washington Freedom has donated two autographed items for two auctions taking place this holiday season.
The first item is a shirt autographed by Abby Wambach, Cat Whitehill, Becky Sauerbrunn, Lori Lindsey and Emily Janss and is part of 11-year-old Evan Mundine’s efforts to raise money on behalf of Marcia Williams, the wife of Real Salt Lake’s Andy Williams, as she battles Leukemia. Mundine has worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society since age 7. He has collected jerseys and other items to auction from multiple soccer clubs, including every MLS squad.
The second item for auction is an autographed jersey from Women’s Professional Soccer’s allocation event held in September. The jersey is autographed by Wambach and Whitehill and is being auctioned off by the U.S. Soccer Foundation in its 2008 Holiday Auction.
Soccer clubs from all over the world have donated autographed jerseys for this auction and the proceeds will go to benefit the USSF’s Urban Soccer Collaborative. The Urban Soccer Collaborative provides children in economically disadvantaged urban areas with opportunities to play and enjoy soccer.
